History of Crestview Inc.
Crestview Construction was founded in 1983 when two neighbors and friends decided to start a business together. Bernie LeDuc, born and raised in Agawam, MA, grew up around the construction industry through his father’s work in civil construction. He later gained hands-on experience working as a truck driver for local companies and learning the trade at a young age under Ray Lucia at Lucia Lumber. John Dziengelewski, born and raised in Southwick, MA, grew up on his family’s dairy farm where he learned the value of hard work while operating tractors and farm equipment. The Crestview Farm, where the business originally operated, became the inspiration behind the company’s name and an important part of its early history.
For many years, Crestview Construction and Trucking operated from this location. The partners purchased two used dump trucks and began working as subcontractors during the day, often after John finished milking cows. They also hauled sand directly from the Crestview Dairy Farm. Over time, they saved enough to invest in additional equipment and began taking on small residential projects. As the business grew, residential subdivision work became a core focus and helped establish the foundation for Crestview’s future.
In the 2000s, following the recession and housing market downturn, Crestview shifted its focus toward commercial site work and infrastructure projects. This transition became an important chapter in the company’s history and helped shape Crestview into the company it is today. Today, Bernie and John’s sons, Brian and Aaron, play a key role in the company’s continued growth. They carry forward the company’s reputation for high-quality work while maintaining the small-town values that have defined Crestview from the beginning—treating employees like family and emphasizing respect and integrity.
Brian and Aaron have also helped modernize operations by integrating advanced technology such as GPS layout and grade control systems, improving efficiency, accuracy, and productivity across projects. Returning to its roots, Crestview also developed a sister company, BGR Materials, entering the sand and gravel industry. This division focuses primarily on processing and delivering sand to local contractors, with plans for continued growth in the future.
After more than 40 years in business, Crestview Construction continues to build on its history while looking ahead with a focus on growth, innovation, and delivering high-quality work across the region.
